Here are four small-size glass bowls - for ice-cream or prawn cocktails - which are less commonly available than the larger size. Made of tempered (toughened) glass with ice crackle sides and starburst base. They stack perfectly. They fit nicely into the palm of your hand, ideal for buffets.

A midcentury classic.

I didn't know until recently that they are designed by John Clappison, who contributed so iconically to Hornsea Pottery over 4 decades. His genius for contemporary design leaps out of these bowls. Ravenhead was also one of the first brands to sell in boxed sets through the new supermarkets, and so everyone had them.

This set of four is in excellent vintage condition, no chips or cracks.
